Doris Wilton - Winfield

Doris has been a member of the B.C. Horseshoe Association for 20 years.
She has been a member of both the Vernon and Winfield clubs and been a Director as well as President of the Winfield Club.
Doris began pitching horseshoes in Calgary in 1975 and never played in any class lower than "B".
In 1980 Doris moved to B.C.
Doris and her husband Doug played a large part in getting the Winfield Horseshoe Club off the ground.
Some of Doris's Accomplishments:
Provincial Ladies Champion 1981 (50.4%), 1986 (63.3%), 1987 (67.6%) and 1999 (68.5%).
B.C. International Ladies "A" Champion 1986 (63.1%) and 1998 (56.4%).
Doris Finished first in the Ladies "A" class at the 1984 Molson's Ladies Only Tournament.
Doris won the Bronze Medal in the Ladies "A" class at the B.C. Summer Games in 1981, 1990 and 1995.
Doris was presented an award from Horseshoe Canada in 1989 for winning 58 games in tournament play, the most wins by any woman in Canada that year.
In 1989 Doris finished the year at 58%, the best in B.C.
Along with the above Championship Class wins, Doris has played and won innumerable tournaments throughout B.C. and Alberta.
Doris has taken a coaching course and has assisted many people in the art of pitching horseshoes.
She is always ready with a big "Hello" and an even bigger "Smile".
